Steven Baumann is a classical realist. After finishing his studies in New York City he continued to live there successfully exhibiting his work and painting portrait commissions. Moving to Spain for fifteen years, he studied the great masters at the Prado Museum in Madrid and painted the light and life of Andalucia in the remote fishing village of Agua Amarga where he lived with the painter Susan Gray. Returning to the States 2001 he settled in the art town of Santa Fe, New Mexico. Here he continues to paint exhibit and do portrait commissions.
